Our Beliefs
The following represents the fundamental beliefs of Gods Sanhedrin Christian Assembly. We believe these truths to be the foundation of biblical Christianity and the basis for our faith and practice.
The Bible
The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, and is the sole rule of faith and practice.
Scripture References: 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, John 17:17
The Trinity
There is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 14:16-17
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, is fully God and fully man, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father as High Priest and Advocate.
Scripture References: John 1:1-14, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Timothy 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The Holy Spirit
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a present reality for believers. We affirm the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in 1 Corinthians 12 and the Fruit of the Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22.
Scripture References: John 16:7-15, Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Galatians 5:22-23
Salvation
Humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin, resulting in spiritual death; salvation and regeneration are possible only through the work of the Holy Spirit. Eternal salvation is a free gift of God, received by faith alone in Jesus Christ, apart from human works.
Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Acts 4:12
The Church
Church membership is limited to those who have personally accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized by immersion. The Church is autonomous and self-governing, managing its own affairs independently of any external ecclesiastical authority.
Scripture References: Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18, Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:25
Water Baptism
Baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church but are not means of salvation. Baptism by immersion is administered to believers who have personally professed faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
Scripture References: Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:3-4, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:36-39
The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is a sacred memorial of Christ's sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, observed by the church as a perpetual commandment. Only unfermented grape juice is used, preserving the purity and symbolic integrity of the sacrament.
Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Matthew 26:26-29, Luke 22:19-20
The Second Coming
Jesus Christ will return personally, bodily, imminently, and gloriously; this belief motivates believers to live zealously for Him.
Scripture References: Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Titus 2:13, Revelation 22:20
Eternity
The dead will be bodily resurrected; the saved will enjoy eternal life in heaven, and the unsaved will suffer eternal separation from God.
Scripture References: John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:11-15, Daniel 12:2, Matthew 25:46
